We actually stayed at my home church (Northwest Chapel) both nights because Movement Church meets at the YMCA! It was a little weird being home but not being home. We were in Ohio for the rest of Operation Barnabas, too.

 

The first thing we did was go to fix up a house that the pastor of MC was buying to use as a church office. We were mainly cutting ivy and trimming hedges and pulling weeds outside around the house.

 

The next day we went to spend the day at the YMCA in Hilliard. We did 4 programs for groups of kids at a day camp and then spent the rest of the day cleaning, painting awesome designs on picnic tables, and painting the curb yellow.

 

I think the coolest thing about serving at this church is that it was in my home town, so I knew where I was and I can see the after effects that I didn’t get to see from any other church that we went to. We usually just left after doing whatever we did, so it is nice to see what God did through us.

 

We also helped with a day camp for children in poorer families created by SON Ministries. We played with the kids and shared the love of Jesus with them. We also did a program for them.
